Meet Joshua Foss
He’s the original Metro Hippie.
He has seen the inside of almost every major convention centre in the United States whilst hosting seminars on sustainable development.
He teaches a Masters degree course, Introduction to Sustainable Design, at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
He is an ambassador for the Living Building Challenge, the most advanced measure of sustainability in the built environment today.
He is a ‘Design Star’, having been a finalist on the mainstream American reality television show.
He lives on his bicycle, is a ‘flexitarian’, sews many of his own clothes, is an accomplished yogi and claims carbon neutrality (but we’re sceptical – did he swim over from the States?)
Tell me more:
Joshua is a sustainability creative currently residing in Sweden. He helps develop and deliver communication strategies across the Beyond Green Group, helping bring our work to life using techniques beyond typing.
Before heading to Europe, Joshua ran his own firm in Minneapolis called Thrive Design Studio. Through Thrive, he designed and managed architectural refurbishments for businesses and residences, garnering frequent regional press coverage for its work. He also led strategic consulting projects for various organisations, from small startup businesses to quarter-billion dollar/yr enterprises. In addition, Joshua is a regular speaker at conferences, summits and trade shows, and has led over 120 seminars throughout North America on transformational design strategies since 2008.
